Eagles Nest 7 miles West of Mannford, OK 2007

Either you have read that I said Scott and Anna work hard to put on a quality rally or you have been there and know this by experiencing it for yourselves. This year, attendance was up. In the biker community, news, whether good or bad, travels. There is a strong sense of networking in the biker community. I attribute the increase attendance to just that, people talking about a good thing.

Cameron and I didn't have the opportunity to make it on Friday. We did get there at about Noon on Saturday. After checking in and then setting up camp, we proceeded to see who all was there. Immediately, we saw folks that I had camped with last year. There was Wildman, Lloyd, Floyd, Mary and Susie. Then we ran into Boonie, a bud of mine for a number of years now. A good rally will bring people back year after year.

There was a group called the "Lord of Loyalties" that was looking for a venue because something came up with the one they had planned to attend, so the came to Eagles Nest. Now they have declared that they plan to attend the rally on a regular basis. There were even members there from Spain. It just goes to show how nice of a rally that Scott and Anna have.

The list of entertainment was extensive. We saw a number of great bands, but sticking in my mind is Tiny Davis and then of course, the "Tulsa Boyz", who were the headliners.

We were at the far end of the camping area visiting with some friends when some guy started a bit of trouble. I kid you not, there were security there instantly. They are low profile but there when needed. I was truly impressed by that.

I have to say, if you want a rally with fun biker games, great folks, dynamite entertainment and ample space to camp, then Eagles Nest should be high on your list.

2006

Space is what a rally really needs.  Eagles Nest has that.  Scott and Anna always put on a quality rally and strive to make you feel welcomed.  Entertainment is the core of a rally that leaves you with the thought that you want to come back.  After all, why do we go.   There is certainly no lack of entertainment at Eagles Nest.

Whether it is the biker games, music or t-shirt contests, plenty of room is required.   Eagles Nest has accomodated its visitors with plenty of room to feel at home.   If you're looking for a decent rally with plenty of room left over, this is the place.

Music has always been tops at Eagles Nest.  Those of you who go, know what I mean.  Leon Russell, Scott Keaton, Polly Ess, The Tulsa Boyz are just a few of the groups that have performed there.

Another note worthy item is Eagles Nest backs the patriotic theme.  If you're a marine having returned from Irag, a veteran that served his or her country way back when, you are respected.

OKC Biker Rally Southwest 149th Street & Interstate 44
Oklahoma City, OK
This rally, yet still in its infancy has the big rally attitude.  A keynote that sticks in my mind is the layout of the activities area.  Being the size of a football field or lrger with the satage at one end, has vendors surrounding the other three sides.  There is quite the array of biker games to keep the attendees entertained and at tiimes, somewhat amused.

Quality of camping is something I also look for when I consider a rally to attend.  There is very accessible camping with respect to the events area.  Something really nice about their camping area.  If you get there early enough, there are a lot of cedar and other trees that give a great amount of shade to block that morning sun.  I don't know about you, but when I party to the wee hours of the morning, I am not looking to pop out of the sleeping bag at first light.

If you have Google Earth, zoom in on the area 1/4 mile Southeast of the intersection of SW 149th and I-44.  It is located just South of the speedway.
